This is potentially the most useful feature of our puzzle products. The Hint tool will analyse the puzzle,
and work out what move you should make next. It does this using human-style logic, so that the step it
identifies will make sense to you. Hints are available for all difficulty ratings and all puzzle types. But
it doesn't stop there! Not only will the program tell you what to do next, but it will explain why you should
do it. If you don't understand what its telling you, it can do the step for you, or it can link you to the
help page which explains the technique, and tells you how to recognise it in future.
The hint feature allows even a total novice to learn techniques in a straighforward manner, but it can still be
useful to puzzle experts when they get stuck or just plain don't see something. Below is a picture of the hint tool
in action:
This feature is only available with the full Puzzle Tiger product. Whenever you complete a game without help in
Puzzle Tiger, you are given an option to add your time to the record. The record of the types of puzzle you've
played, your best times, and your overall progress are then all accessible through the Score History tool. Below
is a picture of the Performance Graph showing your improvement over time from the Score History tool. There is a
separate chart for each game type, and a separate graph for each difficulty setting.
Puzzle Tiger and Sudoku Tiger both allow you to create custom sudokus, using a pattern you specify.
So if you want to create a puzzle in the shape of a heart for Valentine's Day or in the shape of a
Christmas tree for a little seasonal flavour, you can do so without difficulty. Below is an example
of a Hard Christmas puzzle:
All our products come with a complete and often indispensable help file, which provides both basic and
in depth information on every feature of the product, as well as solution guides for all supported puzzle
types, covering each solution technique in depth. Information ranges from a "Getting Started" guide to
a complete reference of all commands and features in the program, and it is all presented in an easy-to-read
and user friendly manner, and indexed using a comprehensive searchable index.
